According to health officials in the Hamas-led enclave, Israel Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu pushed back on Monday after speculation that a new release of Gaza hostages was in the works, saying Israel was taking an unspecified initiative in the absence of an offer by the Palestinian militant group Hamas. At least 50 people have been killed and 100 wounded in Israeli strikes on the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis since Sunday night.
