US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in Israel on Wednesday, where he was expected to press for what he called an “essential” truce agreement as the war with Hamas entered its fifth month.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s office said late on Tuesday that Israeli officials involved in negotiations to secure a new truce in the Gaza war were studying Hamas’s response to the proposed framework deal delivered a few hours earlier via mediators Egypt and Qatar.
