
U.S. Navy Admiral Samuel Paparo has warned of “significant strategic and military risks” linked to a potential conflict on the Korean Peninsula, according to his written response to the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday local time.
The nominee for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command chief, highlighted the continued advancements made by North Korea in its conventional and strategic military capabilities.
He also spoke of the need, to improve Washington’s deterrence against North Korean threats, by increasing the allocation of airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance assets.
