Authorities in southern Brazil say the death toll from relentless heavy rain has risen to 83 and more than 100 people remain unaccounted for.
Since late April, a record of more than 500 millimeters of rain has fallen in some parts of the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The heavy rain has caused damage across the state, including major flooding, landslides and the partial collapse of a dam.
Local officials said on Monday that 83 people have been confirmed dead and 111 others are still missing.
The disaster has also forced more than 120,000 people to evacuate and over 870,000 people have been affected by power outages, disrupted water supplies and other inconveniences.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva viewed the affected areas on board an aircraft on Sunday.
He vowed to do all he can to provide food and shelter to displaced people.
